Wonderland is a Roblox horror adventure game by ScaryPlay that released on August 14, 2026 after roughly two years of development. You play as a child who has been trapped inside a dream version of a toy world, hunted by the game's mascots Wonder and Wander while you try to escape. It combines first-person parkour, roguelike runs, and co-op play for up to five players.

This Wonderland Roblox guide walks through the premise, the two game modes, the core loop you will repeat in every run, and what to focus on first.

What Is Wonderland on Roblox?

Wonderland is developed by ScaryPlay, the studio run by MUCDICH and ivasmigins (each holding a 50% share), who previously worked on the popular Roblox horror game The Mimic. MUCDICH has denied any plagiarism of The Mimic, noting that apart from collectible elements, Wonderland has a completely different style.

The story setup: the protagonist is hospitalized after an unspecified accident, falls into a coma, and wakes up in a dream version of Wonderland. In the real world, Wonderland's plush toys are friendly, but inside the dream they are hostile. The mascot Wonder and his wife Wander hunt you relentlessly, while the friendly Zippy helps you find your way out.

The game is rated Mild (Fear and Violence Repeated/Mild) on Roblox, and the game's own description warns of flashing lights, loud noises, and jumpscares. It supports 1–5 players per game with a 30-player lobby, and voice chat is not supported.

Story Mode vs Levels Mode

Wonderland currently has two modes:

  • Story Mode — locked at launch and aimed for release in 2027. This is the narrative mode most players expected from the trailer.
  • Levels Mode — the only playable mode right now. It is an RNG-driven endless roguelike where each run is a randomized parkour escape sequence.

Because Levels Mode is procedural and endless, there is no fixed "level list" in the traditional sense. Each run sends you through randomly generated segments until you either escape or fall to Wonder and Wander.

The Core Loop in Every Run

Every Levels Mode run follows the same rhythm:

  1. Spawn with starting items. You begin with four default tools: Wonderlites, HealthBox, Backpack, and WonderDoodle.
  2. Collect Lumins. Lumins are small creatures that scamper around the map. The red ones are Zippy's favorite.
  3. Feed Zippy. Bring four Lumins to Zippy, and he will run to the exit, revealing its location on his Etch A Sketch-style map to all players. This does not consume the Lumins, and you can repeat it.
  4. Escape before time runs out. A Health Pad shows your lives, health, and a countdown timer.
  5. Survive the timer. If the timer hits zero, Wonder transforms into his Evil (Times Up) form — a giant, multi-eyed, blood-toothed monster — and hunts the nearest player. He can kill you even if you have lives left.
  6. Exit through the Top Hat. When time is running out, escape through Wonder's Top Hat, located just outside the Shop.

If the whole party dies, the run fails. If everyone makes it through the Top Hat, the run ends successfully.

Why the Game Feels Hard

Wonderland's difficulty was a major talking point at launch. The map layout is complex and chaotic, and Easy difficulty was still considered hard by many players. ScaryPlay responded with a patch that lowered the difficulty threshold, but the game remains demanding.

Expect frequent chase sequences with parkour, plus the wall-run mechanic for fast movement. The roguelike structure means you cannot memorize a fixed route — you have to read each run on the fly.

Where to Spend Currency

The lobby's SHOP is your main hub for spending:

  • Tickets — earned in runs and spent at Wonder's Shop on items like defensive gear, healing, team support tools, the Toy Hammer, the Wander Mask, and a minigun that can damage bosses.
  • Gems — the primary premium-ish currency. You can earn gems by redeeming codes, and spend them on the Gacha: buy a Wonder Egg, hatch it, and receive a random flashlight skin.
  • Codes — currently RELEASE26 is the only active code, granting 100 gems. See our Wonderland Roblox codes page for redemption steps.

Where to Start

If you have just loaded into the lobby for the first time:

  1. Walk up to one of the roller coasters in the lobby to start a game.
  2. Spend your first runs learning how to read Lumins and find Zippy quickly.
  3. Collect Lumins as fast as possible — the timer is your real enemy.
  4. Redeem the RELEASE26 code for a gem head start before your first run.
